ALERT: Meningitis B Vaccination

18/03/26 – We have understandably received a high number of queries regarding the meningitis outbreak in Kent, particularly from patients requesting the MenB vaccination.

Since 2015, in Wales, the MenB vaccine has been routinely offered to infants at 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and at 12–13 months of age. At present, there is no vaccination programme for children over these ages or for adults.

MenB vaccination for children over the age of 2 years and/or adults must be accessed privately, unless the individual is in an at-risk group, in which case guidance will be provided by the patient’s consultant.

If you were born after 1st May 2015, please check your “Red Book” for previous MenB vaccination details.

More information can be found on the attached public health wales website

Thank you.
